Far Cry 3 - Did I Ever Tell You The Defenition Of Insanity?

Ubisoft's new release of Far Cry 3 looks way better than promising. Jason Vandenberghe, the game's director, said that the game will be 10 times bigger than the previous ones, so that makes it what, an rpg sized shooter?

This indicates that the massive sandbox areas will still be available.
There's also some odd rumor about a leveling system, which makes me think, yet again, about an rpg shooter.

This doesn't have to be all that bad really. I'm thinking of Mass Effect and Fallout; both great games, although maybe Fallout was a bit less, but that was because it was over-anticipated by old-school Fallout gamers like myself.

Again they promise a wide range of heavy weapons and crazy graphics where you can see the shell leaving the shotgun.
It will be on a tropical island, which I prefer above deserts like in the second one. Seriously everyone simply agrees that the second far cry was a great game, but the surroundings just were a total no go. Way too hot, way to sandy and way too damn dry.

I drank more water in that game than I did in -any- game. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be pleased about hearing they actually followed the wishes of the Far Cry fans! Also, a map editor and multi-player are confirmed (co-op?).
All pretty impressive.

But the real thing that makes my cherry pop is that trailer. You just feel that there is this twisted kind of atmosphere hanging around and I hope this remains during the whole game. It certainly made an impression on me!

Sleeping Dogs - You Like Kicking Ass?

Fighting games; love 'em! Especially those who look like they really really hurt and this one's most certainly one of those.
On some points I don't agree with this game though.
Why in gods name did they choose Asian people? Okay, they are the martial arts classics, but Irish people would make it just sound so much better:

"Oy mate, imma break ye face so focking hard ye gonna shit teeth for a month!" just sounds more interesting than: "ching wen peng ting wing chi lang".

This isn't racism, this is a fact.

On the other hand, Asian people just have the gift.
And I'm not saying they won't speak English in the game, I'm sure you'd have subtitles, although they might sound a little like this:
"E, you like fight white man ? I kill you for penny eh!"
So yes, all possibly interesting and with a good chance of getting a laugh, grunt or grin.

Anyway, if you like 3th person view, being an Asian undercover cop and beating mob members up in constructive aggressive ways, then this game ought to be something you will love.

You can pre-order on Amazon and be one of the first!

Diablo III - Slice And Conquer!

OK, I played the first two and they were amazing so it's only logical that I'll try the third one as well.

It's with slight caution though; Diablo II was a long long time ago. Personally I don't even remember Diablo I, no wait, I just don't care to remember.

On some points I'm kind of an old-school gamer, but with rpg's evolution is a must. Why would I still want to see 2d graphics?

On the other hand, I don't have any issues with Blizzard's skill-set, so we can pretty much assume that they will make a fascinating graphical game with a sick gameplay.
The trailers look very promising; nice graphics, great moves and the demon huntress looks pretty damn sexy in her high heels.

This was to be expected from a huge title like this one, but it's nice to see they live up to the expectations.
Eventually it all comes down to the gameplay; damn quick aggressive gameplay is what we want and, fortunately, that seems to be exactly what Diablo III will give us.

Hundreds of dungeons to slash yourself through with that slightly insane look on your face.

Slice and conquer!
Don't have it yet? order here!

Bioshock Infinite - Do You Know That Feeling When You're Not Sure If You're Gaming Or Still Dreaming?

I simply adored the other 2 Bioshock games, so no matter what, I will buy this game!

The gameplay is exactly how you want it to be and the scenery is just amazing.

But, why in gods name does it have to be in the sky? Won't that just destroy the whole feeling Bioshock is all about?

On the other hand, the difference between Bioshock 1 and 2 was also notable and that worked out just fine. Conclusion: I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be panicking yet.
I love how in these games characters look and feel amazingly insane, even if they're on your side. You constantly have the feeling that something is out of the ordinary and that takes a special kind of skill in game creating.

So, having this character play in "co-op" with this girl, Elizabeth, and all emotional things that come with it, I'm pretty sure they will create that feeling, something that is close to perfect, once more.
Obviously the game will get another graphical upgrade so we can have an even better look at the amazing scenery they have created.

The gameplay is pretty much the same, only you can travel with and jump from a rollercoaster that goes through the whole city, I for one think this will be kinda awesome!

It's fast and dangerous, a real Bioshock experience you just have to have!

Are you as psyched as me?

Obviously these are the results of his last adventure.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron - Lameness Or Greatness?

The first movie was great, the second movie was not - that - great, and then it just became lame, boring, and exactly the same thing over and over and over again.

It won't get any better if you make a video game about it!

So, that's the ranting.

On the other hand, if the game has some serious fast gameplay this could become great.
Because you would have these bulky iron giants; put them in a fast moving, fast riding, fighting position and the result would be damn interesting. It's like the ninja turtles, they're turtles damned! They are supposed to be slow!!

Also, this isn't the first time they try to make a profit of their movie-success trough the video gaming industry, so there isn't a lack of experience.

Considering all these things, having a 500 ton machine jogging trough town beating up stuff will be very hard to say no to I guess.

Halo 4 - Bigger, Better!

Naamloos document

I'm so looking forward to this game!
It's a fast game, with nice colors and you have weapons and stuff and it has something to do with space, and earth and so...
Really nice suits too!

Okay you've got me, I'm completely not a halo fan! Not. At. All.

I have no idea why, I just don't have a feel for it I suppose.

But...
The cinematics of the game are crazy, really really nice visuals!

It has a great storyline and multiple vehicles that are actually drivable.

As Neil Harrison, Art Manager at 343 Industries, says: they're "working within the constraints of what makes Halo Halo but they're trying to make every aspect of it bigger, better."

So, if you like halo, you're gonna love this!

Max Payne - He's Still Got The Moves

Max Payne in his midlife crisis, with his Hawaiian shirt, beer belly and drinking problem, might not look so cool anymore but he's still got the moves!
It looks like they've focused a lot on the physics in the game, especially on max himself.

The way he crawls up when he has jump-killed is just way better than in any other game I have ever seen. It looks like a 3th person shooter, yet it feels like a first person, which is great!

With all his awesome moves Max Payne is a game for when you want to feel cool. That moment you shoot a guy from behind a corner, when you jump-kill-shoot-fall that just does it for me!

Let's see what it really brings, but whatever it is: this game is a
must have for me!

Feel the same way?

Darksiders II - Promising Awesomeness

In Darksiders II you play as the Horseman Death who is on a personal mission to clear the name of his brother War who is, supposedly, responsible for starting the Apocalypse early. Death believes he is the victim of a conspiracy and sets out to prove his brother's innocence.

The basic combat in Darksiders II hasn't changed much compared to Darksiders I. There are, however, some differences because you will be playing with a completely different character: in the first game you played as the unsubtle, brute, heavy War, smashing everything you ran into. The 'hero' in this game is Death; athletic, fast, light, efficient... it's needless to say that there will be some notable differences in how you'll fight your enemies and move around in the game.
To decrease the hack and slash factor of the game a little bit, the platform part got an extreme make over;

instead of walking straight through every obstacle he encounters, Death has to jump, swing, balance and walk on walls to get to impossible to reach places.
THQ wants to use this product to reinstate their financial position, so we can assume that there has gone an enormous effort in building this game.

Now, we'll see, won't we?

You think, like me, that this game will be awesome?

Dragon's Dogma - Starring: The Hero Without A Heart

Capcom's new console game, Dragon's Dogma, looks like an outdated graphical shit bag, but if you're not a graph addict: read on!

Storyline (seriously!):
Having his village raided by a dragon, the hero is told that he is the chosen one. After that, the dragon tears out the hero's heart and thus, the hero dies. However, because of some unknown reason/miracle the hero lives to die another day and kills the dragon, retrieving the heart.

On entering the game you can choose between various classes, for now these include:
Fighter, Warrior, Mystic Knight, Strider, Ranger, Assassin, Mage, Sorcerer and Magic Archer.
You can also choose gender and appearance.
The gameplay looks great for as far as I have seen. I love that they made it an ability to grab/cling onto enemies; this way you can attack "special areas" and therefore dealing more strategic/lethal blows to the poor blokes body.
In an interview Hideaki Itsuno, the director of Dragon's Dogma, said:

"In a lot of action games, with big enemies the tendency is just to have you hacking away at the shins. You don't getthe full effect of fighting a giant boss. With this game you can climb all over it. If it has a body part, you can attack it."

Another neat factor in the game is the use of 'pawns'. These pawns help you when you're fighting and especially in boss fights this may come in handy. The neat thing about these pawns is that they shout out tips and strategies during the fight. Because pawns are often creations of other players the advice they give can be realy useful! If you have trouble with a boss fight you can choose a pawn who already defeated him in another game and this pawn will shout out his weaknesses. Genius!!

You can look forward to approximately 45 hours of main gameplay and 70 hours of side quests... fun fun fun!

Carmageddon 2: Reincarnation - Long Live Kickstarter!

There's a new Carmageddon in development, Carmageddon: Reincarnation, which is totally amazing!!!
I went to youtube to check out some old gameplay videos and boy was that game ugly! I think that if I'd play it now I would have headache all day. The gameplay however, was awesome; incredibly retarded and hyper aggressive, wh
ich is exactly why Carmageddon was such a success, and it's coming back!
Everything that made Carmageddon great will be integrated, but now with better graphics and new stuff! :-D
Here's a quote from the kickstarter website and the promotion video: watch/read for yourself!

"Carmageddon: Reincarnation
is a re-boot of everything that made the original games such a blast to play. The new game will be inspired by the classic environments, cars, drivers and power-ups from the original, but dragged screaming and kicking into the current state of the rendered art. And of course, there will be a bunch of brand new STUFF too, including true rag-doll pedestrians and physics-based power-ups that let you mess with their limbs whilst wiping away the tears - of laughter!"

For people who want to support this cause (and get something in return ^_^) go to their kickstarter website!

Dishonered - Can't Wait!

Quite dark scenery, stinky sewers, steamy machines and 1984 scenarios, where do I sign up?!

The game is a fist person steampunk action-adventure, designed by arcade studios.
The seperate graphical style and creative gameplay, combined with a dark story full of intrigues, accusations and odd characters has to convince gamers of this industrial game!

Okay, so you have the jump-over-roofs bullshit that you had in Assassins Creed which is entertaining for an hour or so. However, it still is first person view, and that on itself makes me quite curious and makes the game seem very promising to me.
It sure as hell will be fast paced being an adventure first person. :)
Personally I look forward to this game cause I think there's a good chance this could be a revolutionary!
And if it's not, at least I'm sure I ain't going to get bored; just walking around the beautifully obscure game scenery would do it for me!

The Secret World

Release date: June 19, 2012!

is a present time MMO where all legends, (urban)myths and nightmares are true! It looks very post apocalyptic, well, present apocalyptic... :)
The game looks very graphical and beautifully made, but personally I am amazed about the fact that there'll be no char building in this game... No classes, no levels? How can that remain fun?
Of course you DO have an ability system; you can spend ability points which you gain with killing monsters and demons and, because there are no classes, clothes don't influence your stats so you can look how you want, whenever you want!

Counter Strike - Why Everyone Should Have It

 Counter Strike

Counter Strike: Source
When you begin gaming (or begin a blog about gaming), for me it's obvious that Counter Strike should be first in line!
Like when you are born, first there's only darkness and slowly you begin to see light... counter strike is that light! ;)

Hehe, okay that might be an overkill, but it really is an amazing game, especially when you don't have much experience with shooters. By playing Counter Strike you can learn the basic elements that are present in every shooter and it's great to learn tactics and develop a personal style. Don't think that you can play a few hours and call yourself experienced though, it will take days, weeks, maybe even months before you get good but it will be worth it!
I honestly think that all people who love shooters should have this game, if you don't: don't wait any longer! I'll include a link for you :)

The link is source btw, not the complete collection.

Hoard that thing!
